Before you order: “biodegradable” is a regulated word in many markets. We will help you choose an option and wording that is legal where you sell, rather than a claim that gets your goods stopped.
Biodegradable and Bio-Based Bag Options
Many buyers ask us for “biodegradable” bags. There are two quite different things behind that word. Degradable additives such as d2w, EPI or P-Life make normal polyethylene break into small pieces faster. Bio-based PE, such as Braskem’s I’m green™ made from sugarcane, is chemically the same as normal PE and recycles the same way, but comes from a renewable source.
Which one is right depends on where you sell. Oxo-degradable additives are banned in the EU, and some US states restrict “biodegradable” claims on plastic. Tell us the market and the product, and we will suggest an option that you can legally sell and label.

How ordering works
- Tell us the size, thickness, color and print. If you’re not sure, send a sample or a photo.
- Get a free sample from stock, or a custom sample made to your spec.
- Approve the sample. Lead time starts from this date: 4–6 weeks for a first order, 3–4 weeks for a repeat.
- We send production photos while your order is running.
- Inspect before loading. You or a third-party inspector can check the goods before the container is loaded.
Quality control. Our plants work to Japan’s JIS standard and ISO 9001 quality management. Every pack carries a lot number, so if anything is ever wrong, you send us a photo of the lot number and we can trace it back to the exact production run.
Printed bags. Reorder within 2 years and you don’t pay the printing plate fee again.

Can I sell oxo-biodegradable bags in Europe?
No. Oxo-degradable plastics have been banned in the EU since July 2021.
What is bio-based PE?
